AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a NP to provide comprehensive care, support and education to patients and their families through all aspects of their cardiac diagnositc process. The NP will be Responsible for assessing patient needs and planning, implementing and evaluating their progress, based on knowledge inherent in their practice utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach.

This role is 100% hospital-based at AdventHealth Porter.
Two years of cardiac NP and cardiac stress testing background preferred.
This is a 0.9 FTE position (36 hrs/week)

Job Requirements

  • Effectively performs a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to Treadmill testing, stress testing, 12-Lead EKG interpretation.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in monitoring patients undergoing cardiac testing and emergency intervention per ACLS/ACC guidelines when needed. 
  • Implements patient plan of care and observes outcomes
  • Completes comprehensive initial assessment based on patient’s strengths, goals and needs, acute and chronic health conditions, environment, and psychosocial determinants of health. 
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for health promotion and/ or maintenance as well as the assessment, diagnosis and management of patient problems
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. 
  • Delegates to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and AdventHealth Physician Group policy.  
  • Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care. 
  • Contributes to continuous process improvement by taking an active role in patient experience and satisfaction.
  • Use quality measures to improve performance and accountability for patient outcomes, patient experiences and safe delivery of care. 
  • Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in accurate, timely manner. Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
  • Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing. Must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Associate degree in nursing (Graduate from an Accredited School Of Nursing)
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical or advance practice setting, preferred.
  • 2 years cardiac NP and cardiac stress testing background, preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure
  • Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or subspecialty
  • Basic Life Support
  • ACLS
  • RXN/RXN-P
